Fitting in some self-care is a tricky juggle. It’s one of those things in motherhood that’s constantly pushed down the list. But it’s actually vital to our health and wellbeing. As I always say, you can’t serve from an empty cup.
One of the easiest ways to increase your chances of fitting in some self-care is to have your very own self-care box and today I’m sharing with you some of my favourite items to fill your box with.
Booja Booja Champagne Truffles - I’m a firm believer in feeding yourself with the best you can afford and these truffles are incredible. They are gluten and dairy-free which is a plus.
Moisture Bomb Face Mask Sheet - Booking in a full facial can be tricky, but grabbing 10 minutes for a face mask is much more doable. Mask sheets are even better because there is much less mess when taking them off. You can even make your own and keep them in the fridge ready to go.
Facial Roller - these have been growing in popularity over the last few months, but many people still just laugh them off. I’ve been using mine for a few months now. Morning and night. And I love it. Use it after your serum or moisturiser in an upward motion on the face and downward on the neck. Not only is it a night little massage for the face but it can reduce puffiness, fine lines and fluid retention. Help your skin glow and you look less tired.
Spa socks - I’m not happy unless my feet are happy. Try putting a spring in your step with some super comfy spa socks. Okay so it's not quite as good as going to the spa, but when you are charing round the house to get things done at least your feet can feel relaxed and cared for.
Microwave Wheat Bag - Even when you haven’t got any aches and pains, snuggling up with a heat bag can be a real treat. I love an unscented version that you can then add a few drops of your own oil to. Snuggle it on the sofa or pop it to bed 30 minutes before you join it for an extra aaaahhhh factor.
Aromatherapy Associates Inner Strength Bath And Shower Oil - Self-care doesn’t have to wait until the end of the day. Trying kicking off the morning with something a little special and watch the quality of your productivity sore. I personally can’t do morning baths (unless I’m ill or injured), but splash this oil in your hand and rub it over your body starting at your chest, so it gets the most and avoiding the neck and face before you get the shower. Happy skin and the smell is heaven. It sets you up ready to rock’n’roll.
Untamed by Glennon Doyle - This book is incredible, insightful, heartfelt and entertaining. It will fill up your soul.
I hope you dive straight into a little bit of self-care today because let’s not forget, you can’t serve from an empty cup.
