How you start your mornings can affect you for the rest of the day. A lot of us make up the morning routine as we go. This often leads us to rush around making errors and starting the day stressed. Therefore, you should take the decision out of the morning and just get on with your day. Do the same thing every day and you will soon feel more productive. Here is a super simple morning routine to get you off on the right foot.

Use a sunlight alarm clock

There’s nothing worse than waking up to a loud sound first thing in the morning. We end up turning the alarm off and then slipping back into a deep slumber. Therefore, look at getting a sunlight alarm clock. With one of these devices, it wakes you up naturally and gradually over a 30 minute period. With the light filling the room, you will start the day a lot calmer.

Turn on lights and open curtains

Keeping the bedroom in the dark in the morning will cause you to feel sleepy and unproductive. Therefore, as soon as you wake up, do take the step to turn on the lights. You will feel a rush of energy and it will ensure you get on with your day. Also, make sure you do open the curtains straight away to let light fill the room.

Make the bed

You should then make sure you do make the bed. It’s easy to feel too tired to do it when you first wake up. But starting the day off in a productive way will put you in good stride for the rest of the day. Therefore, sort out the pillows and sheets and then do your child’s rooms so they are all sorted for the day ahead.

Drink a big glass of water

When you are busy, you might forget to drink water. But as it’s so important for our health, we do need to make sure we have plenty of water during the day. To start your morning right, drink a big glass of water. It will refresh you and give you the energy you need for the rest of the day.

Have a little stretch

Exercise is also a great way to start your morning. It fills your body with energy and will put you in a good mood for the rest of the day. While you might not have time for a walk or gym session, having a little stretch during your morning routine will help you get ready for the day ahead.

Make the first things you say to each person is nice

Start the day off well by making sure you are positive to every person. You should say something nice to them and it will help you to boost your mood. Whether it’s a compliment or just a friendly greeting, it will help you to start your morning right.

Get up a little earlier than you need to

You don’t want to clock watch during the morning routine. Therefore, you need to make sure you get up a little earlier than you need to. That way, you can start your day as calm as possible. And with more time to do things with your morning, you won’t be in a panic and will be more productive.
